“Love begins by taking care of the closest ones – the ones at home.”
– Mother Teresa
St. Ann’s Connect and Care Ministry is a group of caring individuals who are dedicated to connecting with our parishioners and local adult home residents who are unable to attend Mass in person or just need a friend to check in with them. We keep in touch by providing communion and/or visits, and connect by mail, phone or email depending on what a person prefers.
We’ve chosen Mother Teresa as the patron saint of our ministry. She is an inspiration of service, kindness, unconditional love, humility, along with the determination to better the lives of others most especially those on the fringes of society. As we reflect on her example hopefully, we, too, will develop a merciful attitude.
There are several resources which our group has found valuable: Lemoyne CARE – Center for Aging Resources and Enrichment. Their website (https://www.careatlemoyne.com) has a wealth of information including education, articles, events, and videos not only for senior citizens, but for any individual or organization who supports them.
The Vatican website also featured a series of videos in June, 2022 on the elderly as Pope Francis’ prayer intention for July urged everyone to pray for the elderly, so that they may be “teachers of tenderness”.

We are happy to share the experiences of our ministry with caregivers, relatives, and friends of those in need of connection or care.
