Second Sunday of Advent
as it is written in the book of the words of the prophet Isaiah:
A voice of one crying out in the desert:
“Prepare the way of the Lord,
make straight his paths.
Every valley shall be filled
and every mountain and hill shall be made low.
The winding roads shall be made straight,
and the rough ways made smooth,
and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.”
Today Luke tells us to “Prepare the way of the Lord.”
Who are we giving the right of way in our lives? Have we gotten sidetracked by the endless demands of our society?
“Christmas won’t be complete without a brand new car!”
Yet as Christians we know Christmas won’t be complete unless we make Jesus the focus. Let us spend some quiet time today with our Lord and ask for His peace, mercy, and grace.
