Saturday after Ash Wednesday

So then you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with the saints, and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone. In him the whole building, being put together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you are also being built together for God’s dwelling in the Spirit.

Ephesians 2:19–22

In order for a house to last it must be built on a strong foundation. There are several passages in the Bible that compare centering your life on God to building a house on a strong foundation. By focusing ourselves on Jesus and making him the “cornerstone” of our lives we will be able to face anything that lies in our path.

This Lent take some time to ask yourself:
Have I built my house on the Lord, or is it built on a false foundation?”
