Friday the Third Week of Advent
- Joseph and Mary leave their home in Nazareth to register for the Roman census in Bethlehem. (Luke 2:1-5)
- Mary gives birth to Jesus in Bethlehem. (Luke 2:6-7)
- After 40 days of purification as prescribed in the law of Moses (Leviticus 12), Joseph and Mary take Jesus to Jerusalem to present Him to God in the Temple. (Luke 2:22-24)
- Joseph, Mary, and Jesus return to Bethlehem. It is during this time that the magi travel from the east in search of Jesus (Matthew 2:1-12)
- The Holy Family flees to Egypt after being warned by the angel of the Lord of Herod’s plan to kill Jesus. (Matthew 2:13-18)
- The Holy Family returns to live in Nazareth after Herod’s death. (Matthew 2:19-23)
